I've talked to about 6 guys in the last 6 days that are nuts about big ass cubic inch Shovelheads ! The bigger, the better. The stories of how fast these things can be . . . huge cylinders on 4 3/4 and 5" strokes.
Look out

Noot, Being a Sacramento boy since '75 John was the man. Bill Holland is still building H&H (Harman & Holland)frames and front forks here. My friend Lizard had one of John's nasty four plug, dual carbed, dual magneto fired, fire breathing Shovelheads back then. John built super light bikes with more motor than one would deem possible with amazing results. Shovels forever. Two in the driveway!
ReplyDeleteIf you ever need any certain shovelhead parts, we got some swap meets coming up . . .I could look for you? -Noot
ReplyDeleteMuch appreciated Noot but I'm lucky that both mine are up and running. One a fully freshly black and white fully loaded restored '67 Highway Patrol bike (just show me your license and registration please) and a perfectly original never messed low mileage '81 FXB. Both ends of the Shovelhead experience. Love that gear whine!
ReplyDeleteA local guy pulled me over once (I was riding a '61XLCH) and he rode a cop-bike panhead with a police siren off the rear wheel. Kinda cool gettin' stopped that day!
