Texture Black

Your local Harley-Davidson dealer has this "Texture Black" spray paint available.  For the record . . . it seems to work very well and is quite durable.  Looks nice on this 1981 XL . . . .

  1. The Harley stuff is pretty pricey per can. I've used the Krylon (Dupli-Color)pn 3370 wrinkle black for years, and it's available anyplace that sells Krylon.

It's as tough as the Harley stuff is, and you get a good wrinkle texture if you spray it on in wet coats (3, or 4 - depends on what texture you want, then heat it when it's still "wet" with a heat gun (or even a blow dryer set on high)and it'll wrinkle immediately, and be good to go in 24hrs dry time.

I've used the Krylon wrinkle black to "match in" the Harley OEM texture on cases and other parts, and you'd be hard-pressed to tell where the repair finish was.
