RIP Gary Nixon

I remember meeting Nixon in Rodney Farris's tent during the Camel Pro Dirt Track years.  Gary helped mentor Farris (and it was really helping, since Farris was runnin' at the front about every week.  Rod's first set of leathers were an old pair of Nixon's he threw in the trash - Rod's dad dug them out, cleaned them up and wore them.  Nixon was still very active in the sport.  Maybe you've seen him in some recent magazine articles with those replica Triumph racers?  Really sucks to lose one of the legends of the sport - and a heck of a cool guy.  I still have his autograph in a book about motorcycle racing.  That's why Springsteen chose #9.
