Hopefully this clutch works a bit better, and stays dry? I set everything to factory specs, and upgraded to a nice set of (stock tension) springs. NOS Raybestos plates from my stash . . .
can you explain how to convert to dry clutch . i have a 68 sportster like how to keep tranny oiled but not the clutch has little screen between the two
If yours "wet sumps" leaks past the oil pump check ball, and drains all the oil from the tank into your motor and trans after sitting for long spells . . . I take a small needle nose vise grip and put rubber hose over the jaws, then pinch the oil feed line from the tank. I use heavier (power steering type) 3/8" id rubber hose for oil lines. I also run just 1/2 qt.(about 2 cups) of primary/trans oil. One whole quart is too much(it gets in the clutches). If your bike leans way over on the kickstand, put a board under it to keep the bike upright when parked for weeks.
Greg, if you type in the words 'check ball' in the search box (long empty white box on the upper left on the Noot homepage, and click the little magnifying glass . . . you can see a post I did on these clutch subjects . . . Heck, you can search all the past entries by typing in key words in that box . . .
