Short Stroke 45" (750cc)

This thing revs like a banshee.  Grab a handful of throttle and it's like a light-switch - bam. I need a tach to see what I'm really turning, but it seems like a lot - and it happens faster then a Sportster stock stroke.

UPDATE: This thing was popping out the carb (remember previous post?).  I found the problem to possibly be the magneto gear had moved slightly on the tapered shaft, magneto rotor.  It kept changing my ignition timing (maybe on initial start-ups?) There is no key-way.  I just lapped the taper (new gear with new rotor) and was careful not to over-tighten the nut securing the gear, but it kept moving a bit. (and yes, the gear does extend just past the end of the taper) I used a dot of Loctite 630 on the taper this time, Loctite red on the nut.   Thanks to Carl Patrick, Dennis Schoenfeldt and Mert Lawwill for tech info, etc.  Now, me and Girdler could go riding around ?  That would be fun !

Did you settle on a VM38 for that?

It's a 36 actually(same body) - I could bore it 38 or 39.5, but I have a Tillotson with acc. pump and a ham can air cleaner. Maybe mount it like Carlson's ol' #73 ?
WDYT ?

That vertical ham can is kind of crazy! I'm partial to the DC with a velocity stack.

How does that ANS on the back handle on the pavement?
