California Knuck

Saw this scoot at the Sturgis Drags this year.  Got to chattin' with the owner, who does all his own work, and he told me the former owner of this chop had passed away - and he was kinda keeping it the same.  A few upgrades, but basically the same.  He knew "Canada Dan" (we know who that is) and rode many many miles on the knuckles.  His bike of choice.  Dan's too.

Fast, Faster . . . Fastest

MC Art

Got my Chris Kallas print all framed up and ready to hang in the shop.  Totally cool.  Real bright colors too.  These are a great deal for the price.  Get one before they're gone . . .

Ass Ends . . .

A few good ones I've noticed.

Trivia

I was talking with a guy inside the "swap" building at Davenport who had a copy of The Bikeriders in his hand.  He told me he sometimes rode and partied with the Chicago Outlaws and Ohio Outlaws . . . and get this - He met "Cal" many times.  He figured they called him Cal because he was came out from California.  His real name was Art Dion or Dyon and he passed away in about 1979 or 1980.   Pictured is Cal (left) with his Like soda pop.

I tried to go see everyone for a bit this year, and it didn't really work.  Not enough time to do everything.  I'm really glad I got to see the friends I did for a bit.  The first night was great with Kansas City Jim.  I'm always really impressed with his insight and his motorcycle.  Pat, Ted, JB and Hux (same thing next year?) Kris Klein (I love your bike Kris).  One of the neatest things I saw all weekend was Josh making U-Turns with his scoot.  That thing handles.  Davenport - I love that place - they need (2) a year . . .

Pete

. . . he just might be slippin' into Davenport ????

The "Harley" Sprint

The motor factory brought them to this country, but you gotta admit - they were a very versatile machine.  I really hope they run that 250 class with all the Sprints this year at the Friday Night Davenport Vintage.  When they're all runnin' around that 1/2 mile, it's hard to believe it's all 250s . . . those Sprint CRs haul ass !

" You Asshole ! "

This is the original No Vacancy sign that hung in front of the Pine Breeze Inn in Bellemont, Arizona.  You know the place.  Where Wyatt and Billy were denied a room . . . The motel is still there.  They just put the sign in the bar for safe keeping.  It's still flashing NO, NO, NO, NO

Road Trippin' Minnesota

Met up with my buddy Hux for a ride up to the Millville Custom Car and Bike Show.  Trying to keep up with his Gixxer 1000 was not possible - so, it was nice he hung back and rode with me.  Then we hooked with my friends Pat and Denny for some beers, food and rock 'n roll.  This area of Minnesota is really unique with it's great roads, cool lil' towns and friendly folks who just want to have a good time.  Reminds me of how life used to be in some areas . . . but, it's never changed here.  Thanks Jordan for all the Grain Belt Tall Boys (I drank like 5 or 6 of them) Thanks Whitey and The Millville Cafe for keepin' me fed.  Got to take a late night run with Pat (riding his 1939 WLDD hot rod) - and again, thanks Pat for hangin' back and riding with me.
I keep getting slower - WTF?
